First lines

First line from a LinkedIn profile

A personal opening sentence based on what someone wrote on their LinkedIn profile.

The prompt
Here is the About section and recent activity from a prospect's LinkedIn profile:

{{linkedin_text}}

Write 3 options for the first line of a cold email to them. Rules:
- One sentence, under 20 words.
- About something specific they said or did, quoted or closely paraphrased. Don't invent anything.
- No flattery ("Loved your post!") and no mention that you looked at their profile.
- It should lead naturally into a business topic: {{topic}}.
Example of what it writes
1. You wrote that most agency growth still comes from referrals - curious whether that's true for Northwind too.
2. Saw you're hiring your first SDR, usually the moment outbound gets serious.

How to use this prompt

  1. Copy it into any AI tool, such as ChatGPT or Claude.
  2. Replace each {{field}} with real details about you and the person you're writing to. The more specific they are, the less generic the result.
  3. Check every fact, name and number in what comes back: AI can sound sure about things that aren't true.
  4. Cut it down if it runs long. A cold email reads best under about 75 words.
  5. Send it to yourself and read it on your phone before anyone else sees it.
