Follow-ups
Outline a full sequence
Plan a first email and three follow-ups, each with its own angle, spaced 3, 5 and 7 days apart.
The prompt
We're writing to {{audience}} about {{offer}}. Our proof: {{result}}.
Outline a 4-email cold sequence: the first email, then follow-ups after 3, 5 and 7 days. For each email give:
- The angle (what's new in it).
- A subject (follow-ups reply in the same thread, so write "Re:").
- A 2-line summary of what it says.
- The closing question.
Each follow-up must add something new. The last one closes the loop politely. No pressure or fake urgency.Example of what it writes
Day 1 - the problem: referral-only pipeline... Q: Is new-client pipeline a priority this quarter? Day 4 - proof: 30 meetings in two months for a similar agency... Q: Want to see how? Day 9 - the right person... Q: Who handles new business? Day 16 - close the loop... Q: Should I check back next quarter?
How to use this prompt
- Copy it into any AI tool, such as ChatGPT or Claude.
- Replace each {{field}} with real details about you and the person you're writing to. The more specific they are, the less generic the result.
- Check every fact, name and number in what comes back: AI can sound sure about things that aren't true.
- Cut it down if it runs long. A cold email reads best under about 75 words.
- Send it to yourself and read it on your phone before anyone else sees it.
