Testing

Two versions to A/B test

Write a second version of a cold email that tests one clear difference against the first.

The prompt
Here is our current cold email:

{{email}}

Write a version B that changes only ONE thing, so an A/B test tells us something. The thing to test: {{what_to_test}} (for example: the opening line, the proof, the question at the end, the length).

Return:
1. Version B.
2. One sentence on what's different and what we'd learn if it wins.

Keep everything else identical, including {{tags}}.
Example of what it writes
1. (same email, new closing question) ...Who handles new business at {{companyName}}?
2. Tests a 'who's the right person' ask against an interest question; if it wins, our list reaches the wrong people too often.

How to use this prompt

  1. Copy it into any AI tool, such as ChatGPT or Claude.
  2. Replace each {{field}} with real details about you and the person you're writing to. The more specific they are, the less generic the result.
  3. Check every fact, name and number in what comes back: AI can sound sure about things that aren't true.
  4. Cut it down if it runs long. A cold email reads best under about 75 words.
  5. Send it to yourself and read it on your phone before anyone else sees it.
