Find a buyer's pain points
List the problems a role is likely to have that your offer touches, to write emails around.
The prompt
We sell {{what_we_sell}} to {{job_title}}s at {{company_type}}.
List 5 problems this person is likely to have in their week that our offer helps with. For each:
- The problem, in the words they'd use themselves.
- How it costs them (time, money, stress, missed targets).
- One sign we could spot from outside that a company has it.
Be specific to this role and company type. No generic problems like "they want to grow".Example of what it writes
1. 'Our reps spend half the day finding emails.' Cost: fewer conversations per rep. Sign: SDR job posts mentioning list building. 2. 'Replies get lost across ten inboxes.' Cost: slow answers to interested leads. Sign: several sending domains in their DNS.
How to use this prompt
- Copy it into any AI tool, such as ChatGPT or Claude.
- Replace each {{field}} with real details about you and the person you're writing to. The more specific they are, the less generic the result.
- Check every fact, name and number in what comes back: AI can sound sure about things that aren't true.
- Cut it down if it runs long. A cold email reads best under about 75 words.
- Send it to yourself and read it on your phone before anyone else sees it.
